BLENDER
MEETS
PRESIDENT
I love the look and energy of @presidentband, so I made this project to try new things in 3D and motion graphics. The animation is built around a line from their song “In the Name of the Father” about choosing hope in a meaningless world. With everything happening right now, it really stuck with me. Hope isn’t given to you, it’s a choice, and we make our own meaning.
I started with a moodboard and storyboard, then redrew the band’s logos by hand in Illustrator so they’d look clean in Blender and After Effects. From there I got deep into Blender: liquid-style nodes for the cross, rain hitting a cement floor, a custom camera setup for smooth shots, and hair tools for the singer’s hair on a base mask model. To finish, I edited footage I shot at their Brooklyn show onto screens in a 3D hallway. Rendering was rough, but Google AI helped me work through my settings step by step, and it was worth it.
If you liked what you saw, I’m looking for entry level work in motion graphics or Blender, so reach out!
